Winter in the Cape conjures up images of indoor fires warming the house, red wine and, of course, great red-meat casseroles to make it all worthwhile. The enticing aromas coming from kitchens all over the place seem to greet you as you come home from wherever you have been. Restaurants here often come up with ways to get Capetonians outside when all we want to do is hibernate. One of my favourite places to go to at this time of the year is Giorgio Nava’s 95 at Parks in Constantia. This June they are adding a complimentary glass of the famous Roodeberg wine from KWV, to the delicious osso buco – for which they are renowned. Of course the rest of the Italian-inspired menu is also available but I see no reason to eat anything else when their osso buco is available. The restaurant is one of the few in this area that is open on Mondays so put on a wrap and get outside –just for a while.
Phone 021 761 0247 for bookings or visit the 95 at Parks website for more info.
