September is Heritage Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a good old braai? In celebration, we’ve partnered up with Bookstorm publishers and Franca Gourmet Briquettes to give away three hampers.
How to enter
Entering is simple. All you have to do is sign up to our free weekly newsletter before 5 October 2018.
It comes out every Thursday, and offers our loyal subscribers a snapshot of what’s been happening on the website. We promise to bring you great travel stories, tried and tested places to stay and things to do in the heart of the countryside. We also have some great recipes like Jan Braai’s Caramel Flambé Bananas and Biltong-Crusted Fillet Steak.
What you can win
Three lucky readers will each win a hamper that includes a copy of Jan Braai’s cookbook Shisanyama: Braai Recipes from South Africa worth R327 and a Franca Gourmet Briquettes pack of all four flavours worth R196.
More about our prizes
Shisanyama: Braai Recipes from South Africa is Jan Braai’s carefully curated collection of recipes from fellow braai enthusiasts from all over the country. He asked South Africans from near and far to send him their best braai recipes, and added some of his own to create this collaborative cookbook. From a Marmite and Cheese Steak recipe to a guide on how to cook snoek, there’s a variety of recipes to keep any braai master busy.
The book is available from Exclusive Books for R327.
The Franca Gourmet Briquettes were developed by husband-and-wife team Frank and Catherine Oberholzer of the Free State. Together they were able to infuse briquettes with four quintessential flavours (onion, rosemary, garlic, and garlic and herb). Add the Franca Gourmet Briquettes to your Weber, Cobb or any braaing system and take your favourite piece of meat to the next level.
They are available from Takealot.com for R196 (includes a set of four with all four flavours).
