Here are the Winners of the 2019 African Responsible Tourism Awards

This year’s African Responsible Tourism Awards winners have been announced.

Congratulations to Grootbos Private Nature Reserve for being this year’s Overall Winner as well as winning gold in the Best for Habitat & Species Conservation category.

In the Best Cultural & Heritage Experience category, !Khwa ttu San Culture & Education Centre won gold with WOWZULU Isandlwana receiving silver. The Two Oceans Aquarium received top honours under the Best Responsible Attraction category and added a silver award for Best for Global Goals Reporting. Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company won gold in the Best for Resource Management category. In the Best Small Sustainable Event category, Mdumbi Green Fair Festival won gold while Event Greening Forum 2018 Conference & Master Class and GCIP-SA Annual Awards 2017 took home silver. Meetings Africa won gold in the Best Large Sustainable Event category with the Cape Town Marathon being awarded Silver. The Best for Community Benefits category was won by Dorobo Tours in Tanzania and Safaris and Ultimate Safaris’ //HUAB Under Canvas in Namibia took home the silver in the same category.

The African Responsible Tourism Awards took place on 10 April at the World Travel Market Africa conference in Cape Town earlier this month.
