The world’s very last northern white rhino has joined the Tinder dating app in an attempt to find a mate.
Currently labelled as the most eligible bachelor alive, conservationists hope to find Sudan a mate to keep the species from going extinct. After the last two attempts failed, they turned to Tinder.
By using this app, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy isn’t actually looking for a mate, but rather donations to fund a research campaign into in-vitro breeding methods.
Sudan’s profile will reach 190 countries, which will hopefully get him the funding he needs. It seems to be working well, as the conservancy’s website crashed soon after the profile went live.
