This throwback Thursday video takes us to March 2017 when a pack of wild dogs in the Okavango delta had successfully managed to corner a Lechwe in a shallow drinking hole. Their prey was exhausted, but still putting up a brave fight against the circling pack. That is until a cackle of Hyenas showed up to claim the Lechwe for themselves.
Unbelievably that wasn’t the only battle that would take place between those hyenas and wild dogs that day. All of it was captured by Professor Peet Van Der Vyver who was on Safari with the team at Wilderness Safaris and who would likely agree that he hasn’t seen anything in the wild as fascinating as he did that day.
