Bosjes Estate Introduces a Collection of House Wines

When you bring together Woolworths wine guru Allan Mullins, one of the most respected palates in the wine business, the must-visit Bosjes Estate with its iconic chapel, and the much loved Breedekloof wine region, something has just got to happen.

A match made in heaven

Bosjes Estate house wines are a treat

Since it opened its doors about 18 months ago, Bosjes has become a popular place to get married, somewhere to eat well while surveying the gorgeous Waaihoek Mountains, and, if you have the time, just the place to bed down in the country.

The owners, however, decided that one thing was missing and that was a range of wines that reflect their deep homage to the Breedekloof area in which they find themselves. Who else to better curate these wines than independent wine and spirits professional Allan Mullins?

All the wines are sourced from leading wine estates in the Breedekloof and Allan has chosen the best of them from the barrels and tanks, blending them into some of the most delicious wines one will taste. They all have this thread of marvellous fruit, well controlled crisp acids where necessary and a touch of oak when required. Mother Nature must be proud of what she has made – with a little help from her friend. Allan says, “I wanted to create wines that were typical of the Breedekloof. These are wines made for easy enjoyment.” Goal achieved.

House wines on offer

Bosjes Estate house wines were compiled by Allan Mullins

Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Plenty of summer fruits burst on the palate, well controlled acids – perfect with sushi.

Chenin Blanc 2018

Gorgeous succulence with delicious peach and apricot flavours – heaven with roast chicken.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Intense dark-berry flavours, great nose, velvety and smooth in the mouth – perfect with red-meat roasts and steak.

Pinotage 2017

Think ripe plums, raspberries, mulberries and black cherries and add a grape or two, plush and mellow, a perfect example of a South African classic. Best with red-meat casseroles.

A red blend of Cabernet with a dash of Touriga, and a white blend of Chenin with a ‘healthy splash’ of Viognier are also available.

The wines are priced from R90 to R150 and are available at this stage only from the farm.
