This book wouldn’t be complete without a braai pie recipe! So I’ve come up with something really creative and special for you. This braai pie is loaded with a delicious nutty filling and a syrup poured over for that extra sweet stickiness. This is similar to Greek baklava and the braai really brings out the roasty nutty flavours. It is very easy to make and perfect served with vanilla ice cream.

Tips and tricks
If you don’t have a food processor, crush the nuts by putting them into a strong ziplokkie and bash them with a rolling pin. I recommended using almonds, pistachios, walnuts, pecans or even a mixed bag.
You can pop some cloves into the pastry before putting it on the braai for a stunning visual effect and a delicious flavour.
