Edible origami is set to become the hottest food trend after scientists recently decided to find a way to make food more interactive and fun.
This new discovery is basically nothing more than flat sheets of gelatin and starch that sprout into three dimensional forms when submerged in water. Think of it as a more advanced version of pasta.
The amount of shapes one can make with edible origami is virtually endless. So far it has been made into the shape of a flower and even discs that are small enough to wrap around a bead of caviar.
While busy trying to make food more fun, the scientists also ended up making it more environmentally friendly. Pasta is rather difficult to package due to its shape, while edible origami folds flat and takes less space.
The eventual goal of edible origami is to give people the freedom to design their own via a 3D printer and a phone app.
