The South African passport has dropped down the rankings on the Henley Passport Index and now sits at 53rd in the world with visa-free access to just 102 countries.
Citizen and planning firm, Henley & Partners, ranks the power of passports every year according to the number of countries the holder of the passport can go without a visa.
Qatar Airways recently announced that citizens of 33 countries can enter without a Visa for 90 days. South Africa is also on that list. The visa can also be extended for a further 30 days after the initial 90 days have expired.
