Western Cape, Gamkaberg Nature Reserve
The Fossil Ridge Eco Lodge and its neighbours (the Tierkloof Eco Lodge and Sweethorn Eco Lodge) are not really lodges at all. They are tented camps with fancy names. But they’re nice. Very nice indeed!
Situated at the foot of the Gamkaberg in the Western Cape Gamkaberg Nature Reserve, these offer a charming wilderness getaway. Each isolated camp has luxury, fully equipped, en suite safari tents with a deck, plus a separate kitchen with gas fridge, and a splash pool and social lapa.
Solar power is provided. Camps are rented out just to one group at a time which means you won’t have to share with anyone else (except tortoises, lizards and the occasional leopard). There are many hiking trails close by including a hike up a beautiful kloof and a succulent Karoo biome-themed bush walk.
